Frequently Asked Questions

• I can see the Learn Crafts! GPT main screen, but I can’t use it. Why?

  You need to have a ChatGPT Premium Plus subscription. It’s about $20 per month and gives you access to a ton more features than a free ChatGPT account.

• Are all the links provided by the GPT valid?

  Sometimes ChatGPT provides links to null pages. If so, simply ask the chat to check all links for validity. Type this into the chat: Are all links valid and functional?

• Some links are not clickable. How do I get clickable links?

  Ask the chat to provide clickable links.

• An image of the project was not automatically generated. How do I get one?

  Type this into the chat: Provide a high-res image of this project based on materials suggestions and instructions.

• The image generated by the GPT was a bit strange. Why?

  DALL-E, the image generating engine, is still learning.  You can type into the chat what looks off, and it will generate a new image.  But remember to be specific about what needs to be updated. The success rate with image accuracy is hot and cold—sometimes they are perfect, other times they are insane. I hope this technology improves quickly.

• The GPT provided instructions that I think need improvement. Can I tell it?

  A: Yes!   Talk to it like a person. For example, if the assistant suggests you use a ½ inch buttonhole for a 1-inch button, tell it so, and it will revise the instructions, express gratitude for the correction, and it will remember.
