Color, Style and Self Expression in the New Decade

Bringing Color and Style to Your Lighting

Another decade is nearly behind us and, as we head into a new version of “The ‘20’s”, we can’t help but wonder what the 2020’s will bring in terms of style.  Will we break molds of the mundane beige world we have become?   Will we enter a new era of shapes, colors and self-expression? I’d like to think so.

Let’s talk about the new Art Nouveau!   While I’m no expert at trend prediction, I have no problem with setting them and I say let’s bring back the geometric shapes, soft contours, beaded fringe, bold colors and exciting flair of the 1920’s--but with a twist. Your home should be exciting, including your lampshades and lamps.

I love the anachronistic practice of blending Edwardian, Victorian and Georgian antique textiles with Art Deco. This creates a mesmerizing look that brings us into the new decade, pays homage to our rich style history, and speaks to our individuality. Stay tuned in the coming months for exciting colorful silks paired with antique textiles, and the stunning crystal beadwork you have come to recognize as exclusive to Elegance Lamps.
